Watershed Protection District Contracts with Kasraie Consulting for Flood Hazard Identification Studies

Studies to cover Happy Valley in Ojai, Jepson Wash in Fillmore and Walnut Canyon in Moorpark

The Board of Supervisors approved the consulting contract to support the collaboration between the District and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to create and maintain accurate, up-to-date flood hazard data for a number of streams that have not been evaluated in detail in the past. The study includes: Happy Valley Drain Watershed and the Happy Valley Drain Tributary Watershed located in the western portion of the City of Ojai; the Jepson Wash study area, located on the west side of the City of Fillmore, includes the reach from the Jepson Wash Debris Basin to the confluence with the Sespe Canyon and vicinity; the Walnut Canyon study area, located in the northern portion of the City of Moorpark, includes the reach from Spring Road to the confluence with Arroyo Simi.
